My son has a school project due this week where he has to read a biography of a famous person, write a speech as if he were that person, and then perform it in full costume in front of his class and parents. Tonight I pulled out my trusty sewing machine and put the finishing touches on his outfit. I was so proud of my sewing skills. To be clear, I do not sew regularly – maybe 2 times a year (or less.) I felt super crafty tonight, though. I took a wool liner from a thrift store coat and pulled in the back to make it almost 5″ narrower to fit his shoulder span. I even did top-stitching.

Swiss design means it must be good, right?

I’m going to be selling this soon and getting a much simpler to use Singer Confidence machine. If you know anyone who is interested in a used Bernina 830 in excellent condition with a box of a bunch of extra pressure feet send them my way.

I don’t know why, but I have always loved that lever in the back that holds the pressure foot in place.

A little bit dusty, but nothing a good tune up can’t fix.
