I went ice skating tonight with my son’s cub scout pack. It was his second time – the first time being exactly one year ago. After a little work, he finally let go of the wall, although he never let go of me. For my kid, who is more bookish than sporty, I thought he did great. I was extremely proud of him. And I love that he is wearing his favorite hat (knit by me of course!)

I have never ice skated, but he looks like he is doing great and keeping himself vertical. What a nice Mom to let him hang on to you. He is wearing the perfect hat. All the colors are so “boy”. I know you feel good every time he wears it.
I love when he wears this hat. I also love that it’s his favorite hat. And even best of all, I love that he knows I made a mistake when I started it and made the brim way too big but that I then turned that mistake into an asset by overlapping the two ends to reduce the circumference and make a pocket. He said it’s an example of how you can take a negative and turn it into a positive. All in one little hat. 🙂
