We discovered the most incredible place this weekend about 2 miles from my mom’s beach house. It’s an ecological preserve with walking paths through the most amazing woods and marshes that all lead to a remote beach on the bay where there are tons of horseshoe crabs. There is a map next to the small parking lot showing the various trails, each marked with a different color, but once you are inside the woods it’s very easy to feel totally lost. This juncture made me think of the first four lines of the poem by Robert Frost called “The Road Not Taken”

 

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
