My daughter’s birthday is tomorrow. I went to a local store to order a cake for her and saw this sitting in the display cabinet. I asked how much it was and whether it was fresh and, not too surprisingly, it expired at midnight tonight… and it cost $29! I thought about asking for a “close-to-the-expiration-date” discount but opted for a simple layer cake instead.
It is precious. Too bad it wasn’t fresh AND on sale.
I totally would have bought it if it was a little bit less expensive. I think the cake we ended up getting was less than $10 which is more in line with how much I wanted to spend.
Good choice. Cute, but maybe stale.
The funny thing was, even though it expired on the 17th, when my husband went to the store to get her cake on the 18th that cake was still there in the display case. I wonder if it’s still there a week later?
